Orestone Announces Update On Captain Property

March 11, 2008

Trading Symbol: ORS March 11, 2008 - Vancouver, Canada, Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX Venture: ORS) (“Orestone”) is pleased to announce that it has completed three diamond drill holes of an ongoing six hole program on their 100% owned Captain Property in the Quesnel Trough of Central B.C. The 43-101 Technical Report dated October 31, 2007 recommended drilling two types of targets – a porphyry Cu-Au (copperĀ¬gold) style and a higher gold grade fault-controlled style. Two holes are evaluating the potential for porphyry Cu-Au in widely separated areas. Four holes are evaluating the potential for fault-controlled mineralization where previously sampled overlying massive sulphide boulders returned grades of up to 25 g/T Au. Drilling will be completed in 10 days with assay results due in approximately 4 to 5 weeks.

Orestone has reserved a diamond drill to continue their drill program in October-November, 2008. Ongoing technical surveys will provide additional information to develop more drill targets. One of these surveys will be conducted over an area at the head of a 1.5 km long mineralized boulder train with grades of 0.1-1.5 g/T Au, 0.1-1.0% Mo (molybdenum), 0.17-2.4% Cu, and 9-34 g/T Ag (silver) with adjacent anomalous gold (500 ppb) in stream sediments and down-ice placer gold bearing streams.

The Captain Property forms a large land package (approximately 27,000 hectares) that contains many airborne magnetic-high anomalies on ground previously worked by Placer, Noranda and several junior resource companies during 1989 to 1996. Numerous airborne magnetic-high targets in the Quesnel Trough are known to be related to underlying intrusions important for their relationship with Cu-Au porphyry deposits such as at Terrane’s Mt Milligan deposit immediately north of the Captain Property. I.P. surveys over the airborne magnetic highs are a key method of identifying drill targets in this largely overburden covered property.

The Orestone exploration programs are carried out under the supervision of Brian Bowen, P.Eng., member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Mr. Bowen is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) with more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry.
