Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX Venture Exchange–Symbol: ORS) is pleased to announce that the Company has received approval for an additional 6 drill hole sites for the Captain Project from the British Colombia Ministry of Energy and Mines. The additional 6 drill holes along with the previously approved 25 drill sites gives the Company additional flexibility for the diamond drilling program to test the anomalies of interest that are a result of the recently completed Induced Polarization/Resistivity surface geophysical program. The company is currently seeking bids from diamond drilling contractors and anticipates beginning the drill program in October of this year.

In other corporate news, in conjunction with its review of its property portfolio, the Company has dropped its options on the Connor Creek property and the Funk property (previously held within the Todd Creek Joint Venture.) The Company has no further obligations with respect to either property. While both properties have merit, the company’s focus is on the exploration of the Captain property, where a drilling program to assess highly prospective targets will commence shortly.

Ross Zawada P. Geo. is a qualified person under the NI 43-101 guidelines and has reviewed the technical content of this news release.
