Orestone Announces Annual Shareholder Meeting Results

Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX Venture Exchange–Symbol: ORS) (“the Company”) is pleased to announce the following results from the Annual General Meeting of shareholders of the Company (“AGM”) held on September 10, 2012. The shareholders elected the following 6 individuals to the Board of Directors for the ensuing year: David Hottman, John Holmlund, Gary Nordin, Gordon Richards, Bob Wasylyshyn and Doug Willock. The shareholders also approved the following resolutions: i) the appointment of Dale Matheson Carr-Hilton LaBonte LLP, Chartered Accountants to serve as the auditor of the Company for the ensuing year; ii) reconfirmation of the Company’s Stock Option Plan; and iii) the proposed four (4) for one (1) consolidation of the Company’s issued and outstanding common shares (the “Consolidation”). The shareholders of the Company who voted at the annual meeting voted 98.90% in favour of all of the above resolutions. The Company will advise as to when the Consolidation will become effective. The Consolidation is subject to final approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.

“I would like to welcome two new directors to the Company’s board, Robert (Bob) Wasylyshyn and Doug Willock. I believe that both of these individuals will contribute to the future success of the Company, stated David Hottman, Orestone’s President and CEO.

Robert S. Wasylyshyn has been involved in the mining and exploration industry as a geologist for over 30 years. He has managed a full spectrum of activities from grass-roots exploration through to running an operating gold mine. He has worked in North and South America along with Europe. Most recently, as President and COO of Gold-Ore Resources, he was instrumental in the successful re-start of the Bjorkdal gold mine in Sweden which culminated in a corporate merger. 

Mr. Willock has over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance having worked for leading Canadian and international investment banks, as well as managing junior resource companies. Most recently he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Polar Star Mining Corporation, a company he helped found and built over the last 6 years to explore and develop mineral properties in Chile. He remains as a director and advisor.

Mr. Willock holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a major in finance from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University, a Bachelor of Arts (History) degree from the University of British Columbia and attended the Beijing Language Institute on a joint Government of Canada and China scholarship from 1976 to 1977.

The Board of Directors has appointed the following individuals to act as officers of the Company for the ensuing year: Chief Executive Officer and President, David Hottman; Chief Financial Officer, Erika Vargas; Vice President of Exploration, Gary Nordin and Secretary Bernard Poznanski.
